President Donald Trump announced that he may use insurrection act to quell recent protest.
🔑This act signed into law by President Thomas Jefferson in 1807, the act gives the commander-in-chief the ability to deploy the military to squash civil disorder, rebellion or insurrection within the U.S.
Protest against police brutality continue throughout the United States. After the death of George Floyd, president Donald Trump says , he will not tolerate who use George Floyd death as a vehicle to drive their own agendas. And announced the invocation of Insurrection act. This act will deploy the American soldiers into the cities.
Insurrection Act 1807:
This act was enacted in 1807 and signed by President Thomas Jefferson, which allows the president to use the U.S. military to supress rebellion within the states.
According to section 251 of the Insurrection Act, a state can request assistance from the president, who has authority to call as many soldiers the state has requested. The president can also use federal forces.
According to section 252 the president is allowed to use federal forces to enforce Federal authority whenever unlawful obstruction occurs.
According to section 253 , the president can invoke his act of Insurrection that hindering the execution of federal or state law.
