A PIA plane from Lahore to Karachi crashed just before arrival on Friday, May 22. A total of 99 people died and two of them survived.
Hospitals in the city received the bodies and began the process of identifying them. DNA samples have been taken to be matched with relatives.
It all began with a problems in landing gear. When the plane was about to land as per the instructions of ATC(air traffic control) the pilots dropped the landing gear and the gear didn't came out , so they tried to do belly landing due to which both the engines get damaged and pilots decided to take another landing.
They pushed the engine to max and the damaged engine lifted the plane with there maximum power. ATC gave them another route and height for landing but due to damage the engine didn't responded well and the plane didn't achieve the targeted height(3000ft.) So pilots gave this information to ATC and the controller told them to be on 2000ft. But this also not happen as the engines were failed and the plan's height dropped to 1800ft. And the height was dropping quickly, ATC also found that the plane was turning before the given distance and was off routed. The indicators inside the cockpit was also showing the engine failure. Pilots gave this failure information to the controller. And soon the plane dropped on the residential area (model colony). And soon the responses from cockpit were stopped.
